Latham Nance: A Passion for Fashion and Beyond

Contrary to what you might expect from someone growing up in Jackson, Mississippi, a city not traditionally known for its fashion industry, I was immersed in apparel and menswear from an early age. My passion for clothing was heavily influenced by my father’s nearly three-decade career in the industry—ranging from running a global bespoke clothing company to launching retail ventures. This deep-rooted exposure to menswear and craftsmanship shaped my career aspirations and continues to inspire my journey.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design and Merchandising with a concentration in Fashion Merchandising and a Minor in Communication Studies from Mississippi State University. My education took an exciting turn in 2022 when I studied abroad with the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City, traveling through Italy to visit world-renowned textile mills like Reda, Albini, Ratti, and Candiani Denim.

In the summer of 2023, I worked at Finch & Kelly Gentlemen’s Clothier in Oxford, Mississippi, during its first year in business. The opportunity allowed me to immerse myself in retail operations and contribute significantly to its early success. My role extended beyond the sales floor—I was involved in merchandise buying, customer service, sales, and digital marketing. I helped select and purchase inventory, ensuring the store carried the right mix of products to appeal to its clientele. I also worked directly with customers, providing personalized styling advice and tailoring recommendations to enhance their shopping experience.

In addition to sales and merchandising, I played an active role in brand development and digital marketing, designing graphics for social media and helping shape Finch & Kelly’s online presence. Whether advising on marketing strategies, working the sales floor, or strengthening customer relationships, I made a meaningful impact on the store’s growth and reputation. Since my time there, Finch & Kelly has continued to thrive, becoming a respected name in Oxford’s menswear scene.

In August 2023, I joined Trinity Apparel Group LLC as a Sales and Marketing Associate, specializing in wholesale private-label made-to-measure menswear. Early on, I contributed to the Operations Division, ensuring smooth product distribution and dealer support. My responsibilities included:

• Fabric & Product Distribution: Managing the distribution of fabric folders, suiting, shirting, outerwear, and all other products to dealers.

• Intercom Customer Support: Handling chat-based support tickets through Intercom, assisting clients with inquiries and troubleshooting.

• Custom Linings Compliance: Overseeing the Custom Linings Program, ensuring that submitted designs did not violate copyright laws—screening for unauthorized university marks and branded content.

• Signature Monogram Program: Running the Signature Monogram Program, allowing dealers to offer customer signatures and logos embroidered onto garments.

• Returns & Discounts: Assisting in processing returns and distributing discounts as part of the resolution process.

After developing a strong foundation in operations, I played a key role in Trinity’s digital marketing and product development initiatives:

• Dynamic Imaging: Assisted in executing Dynamic Imaging as part of the Trinity Digital Marketing Collective, improving how clients visualize and customize garments.

• Collegiate Lining Project: Spearheaded the Collegiate Lining Program, creating a rapid-printed lining systemfeaturing licensing-free motifs in the official colorways of Power Four universities—providing a scalable, legally compliant solution for collegiate-inspired menswear customization.

Since moving back to the Jackson Metro area, I’ve immersed myself in philanthropy and community engagementas a member of the Phoenix Club of Jackson. The Phoenix Club is a social organization for young male business professionals (ages 23-35) that raises money for the Boys & Girls Club of Jackson, hosts volunteer events, and organizes social gatherings to connect young adults in Jackson with local businesses. Through collaborations with Jackson’s thriving business community, we aim to strengthen both local engagement and charitable giving.

I am also a dedicated supporter of Mississippi State Athletics, contributing to the Bulldog Initiative NIL Collective, the Bulldog Club, and the Excellence Fund as a booster. My passion for Mississippi State runs deep, and I take pride in supporting student-athletes and the university’s continued success on and off the field.

Outside of work, I enjoy exploring Jackson’s nightlife, going out for cocktails with friends, and experiencing the city’s vibrant social scene. I also love music and DJing, often playing with my turntable and practicing my mixing skills. Creativity extends beyond fashion—I enjoy filming and editing content, whether for work or personal projects. Reading is another passion, and I constantly seek new books that challenge my perspective.

Travel is also a big part of my life. I have a diverse network of friends and colleagues worldwide, and I take every opportunity to visit them and experience different cultures firsthand. Whether it’s hunting, fishing, music, or meeting new people, I’m always looking for ways to learn and grow.

More than anything, I am committed to making Mississippi a better state and Jackson a better city. Through my work, community involvement, and passion for the future of Mississippi, I strive to support local businesses, promote economic growth, and create opportunities that uplift my home state.

Looking ahead, I aspire to bring a menswear manufacturing facility to the U.S. for Trinity, establish myself as a personal clothier for my own clients, and always remain open to new ways of contributing to worthy causes in my home state.

Now based in Jackson, MS, I’m eager to continue growing within the menswear industry while giving back to my community and embracing the beauty of the outdoors. Let’s connect and explore the ever-evolving world of fashion together.
